Works Planning

Temporary works designs and staging drawings are a valuable addition to a thorough tender package. They demonstrate the contractor’s ability to perform the works and provide reassurance for the client. Certitude Surveys produces clear, professional drawings and designs to help with tender packages and works planning. These works include excavations, laydown areas, crane/piling pads, cofferdams, site compounds, traffic management and underground services avoidance. Designs are drawn up to comply with client-specific specifications and create safe, practical site layouts with suitable earthwork grades for drainage, vehicle, and mobile plant requirements.

Model & Design Checking

engineering surveying The design will need to be checked in order to ensure it matches the paper drawings (usually a hold point). Inevitably, RFI’s will need to be created. Certitude Surveys has extensive experience going through design drawings, entering them into CAD for setout where necessary, comparing structural to civil drawings, highlighting discrepancies and identifying RFI’s and TQs for early submission. The surveyor can be an invaluable aid to the project team in the early stages of a project, helping them with project planning and ensuring that later stages run smoothly.

Quantity Calculation and Takeoff

Having worked on numerous earthworks and roads projects, Certitude Surveys personnel are capable of estimating and taking off quantities for different materials and items using the tender drawings and 3D model. This includes quantities for general embankment fill, select fill and different pavement layers, as well as culvert lengths, stabilised sand and concrete.

4D Planning

A BIM-related Service that we offer in collaboration with 4D planning & controls specialist Glentworth Group, 4D planning is the combination of the BIM design model with the additional dimension of time (planning). 4D planning can enhance performance through better visualisation of the construction work, create a more accurate and detailed work plan, support lean construction, improve effectiveness of time and resource planning, and can also create better tenders.
