This is increasingly demanded by clients in the construction industry for both pre-construction design and planning, and as-built model creation. There has been a surge recently in the availability and usage of positioning equipment on site, which is designed to be used by project staff other than surveyors to fulfil functions traditionally associated with surveyors. For example, supervisors’ kits consist of a GNSS rover kit with a somewhat simplified interface, which can be mounted on a vehicle or carried on a pole for use by supervisors or engineers.
